It is a time for celebration with the FPAWS lawsuit settled and new rates voted in by our legislature.
This settlement could not have been reached without the support of our caregiver friends, colleagues and the outstanding effort of our attorneys at Perkins-Coie.
We also want to recognize that Children's Administration Assistant Secretary Jennifer Strus was instrumental in negotiating the final agreement. By building trusting relationships with Children’s Administration and community partners; FPAWS works to assure the voices of foster, kinship and adoptive parents are taken seriously.
You, your agency, your company or corporate investment says your team cares about the work FPAWS is doing for these kids and caregivers in our State.
Here are some of the reasons we think FPAWS is a good investment:
Each year FPAWS provides 6 Mini-Conferences around the State. and our annual caregiver conference at Great Wolf Lodge. We look for the training caregivers need and want.
Each year FPAWS answers 1000's of calls from caregivers around the State of Washington. Folks call because they need support and information. FPAWS is committed to answering the phone or returning the call as soon as possible. Our goal is for callers to feel empowered and supported.
FPAWS is there to assure that training is available to all caregivers. Training these families need to move the culture of foster care toward greater success for children, foster parents, adoptive parents kinship and other permanent caregivers.
We speak with a unifying voice as we look at the world through the eyes of the social worker, caregiver, parent and child.
We are all working so the children that come into the out of home care system will have the best experience possible. We believe that the families taking in children deserve the respect and support of the entire community.
